Introduction

I have my dream job - working in higher education exploring technology horizons and coming up with new ideas that might improve the way people learn (the money's rubbish, but you can't have everything).
Currently I am working on some specific areas; innovative applications of user produced digital media, games-based learning in HE (very much at asking questions stage), personal and social publishing.
I write, play, and record music and studied Fine Art as a degree and education at masters level.
I like collaborating in everything I do.
I am slowly simmering the idea of doing a Phd next year.

Why do you want to learn to webcast?

Even though I have a semi-tech background I'm kind of nervous about this venture from a tech point of view and in terms of educational expertise, but I'm really interested in seeing whether the EdTechTalk community on the Americam continents might find an equivalent in Europe... I like the idea of being part of a community that could work in parallel (due to time zone differences) with the American community and then share and link up (bridges!) whenever it seems like a good idea. My ideas are very unformed at the moment - that's why I need collaborators!

Presentation of an EdTech idea and discussion of that idea from participants who have a variety of perspectives eg students, teachers and support. The aim would be to offer ideas and understand the opportunities for enhancing learning, but to understand the challenges too. I would like to work with someone else to develop the idea.

Worldbridges Participation

I could answer this when I fully understand the technology, however at this point in time the Worldbridges Webcasting Network seems best. I do not want to tie the discussion to a particular institution. As has been demonstrated by others, the Worldbridges Webcasting Network itself underpins an important and useful philosophy.
