Hello Kate, Anthony, and anyone else interested in participating in the Class of 3.1, We had the last 3.1 sesion on August 25, but will be starting 3.2 as soon as a couple people volunteer to lead the session (most likely sometime in Oct. or Nov). In the meantime, please feel free to make use of resources in the Book of Webcasting, 3.1 course materials, and screencasts. You can post any questions in the forums and stop by any webcasts scheduled here, EdTechTalk, or PuentesalMundo. Look forward to connecting eventually, |

Intro^^^ It's great to hear how others got started with Webcasting. TTT has been a big contribution to ETT. You,Paul and Lee have built a community centered around your webcast. Interncasts ^^^ Very detailed information on why you chose to highlight these shows. I especially like your explanations of the challenges you have encountered as a webcaster. Even when we think everything is under control the webcasting gremlins are out and about. Set-up: ^ good info on set up for both windows and mac. I would also recommend a screencast to get a visual idea on how you set up for webcasting. Jose Rodriguez, Co-Facilitator Webcast Academy Session 2.3; It's Elementary Webcast |

Intro: ^^^ great introduction and reasons why you are webcasting Interncasts ^^^ WOW2.0 rock. Live from NECC2007 was a treat and great example of streaming remotely from a conference. Set-up = ? I would recommend that you upload a screencast giving us a view on how you set up for streaming. Jing would be great. and future plans: Looking forward to Seelings podcast. Webcasting will add a whole new dimension to an already great show. Jose Rodriguez, Co-Facilitator Webcast Academy Session 2.3; It's Elementary Webcast |

Minhaaj, Delighted to see the Trek boldly going where no Linux user has gone before :) Posting Issues: Also, for certification purposes, published interncasts need to include some kind of show notes and/or chat log. You can find info about getting chat logs at: Look forward to connecting soon and staying tuned in to the Trek, |

Congrats on your interncast. I see that you are pioneering webcasting on linux. I really liked your tutorial. Great show concept. Audio quality was ok. I wonder if your specifications had any effect on the audio quality. The recommended specifications are Sample Rate: 44KHz and Bit Rate: 64Kpbs. Did you record a back-up copy on audacity? I wasn't live on your show, I just listened to the audio on webcastacademy. I'm assuming that you were streaming both sides of the conversation in skype via ustream. Keep up the good work. Thanks a lot for the link and info, plato. :-) I'm glad to know that it wasn't just me! I noticed the last time I was on that it happened again when I first logged in but then when we teleported to another location, all of the avatars appeared and the white blobs disappeared. Maybe it's getting worked out. I appreciate your response. |

Thanks a lot for your reply, James. It's very reassuring to know it's not something I'm doing wrong. I don't have much confidence in SL yet. |

SL only changed the process mode of how avatars materialize, I think. |

Saw something reported about this in the Linden Labs Status page at:
http://status.secondlifegrid.net/page/2/ Many residents have reported that their clothing are not loading and they are seeing others as white clouds. There are also some other issues such as some regions down, inventory not loading and search not working. We are aware of these problems and are working to fix these issues as soon as possible. So I guess the answer is there's a glitch in SL that is supposedly fixed, but apparently not.

Hi Minhaaj, Not sure that you are recording from your sound card. It sounds like microphone is picking up sound from speakers. What your configuration is on linux... Is it like mac? I use soundflower like windows uses Virtual Audio Cables. Congrats on joining webcast academy. Jose Rodriguez, Co-Facilitator Webcast Academy Session 2.3; It's Elementary Webcast |
