Show Notes - Interview with Shelly-Daly-Ramdyhan

Our special guest in today's interview was Shelly Daly-Ramdyhan, Lawn Tennis Star, Coach, and Co-ordinator, Guyana, South America.

We discussed matters ranging from Shelly's rise to stardom in the tennis arena to her passion for cooking as well as her recent experience as a tourist in Spain and New York.

She expressed her admiration for international tennis stars who motivated and propelled her towards her goals.

More importantly, she touched on the factors stifling the growth and development of the sport in Guyana and explored suggestions to give the sport a shot in the arm.

Special mention was made to the evolving role of lawn tennis in fostering the development of children and young people from all walks of life, including the schools.  She highlighted the positive impact of international exposure for the players, and the important role that Summer Camp plays.

Both Daly-Ramdyhan and Santon Lambert, co-host, called for greater cooperation from the public and private sectors and the international community to give the game a boost.  She cited the benefits to be derived for the players and the economy as a whole from the hosting of international competitions such as the ITF levels 1-5 games, Grand Slam and her ultimate vision, Wimbledon, being hosted in Guyana.
