Posting an audio intro for 3.x
Hi
I'm having a problem uploading an audio introduction to class 3.x. I've watched the screencasts etc and when I select create audio content it appears that I can't access a drop down in categories that allows me to select the orientation class and media type

Are there server problems?
Are there server or other problems at the W.A. site? I've tried on and off all day to try to post responses to this and that, but after I input my comments and hit "preview," I (eventually) got a blank, frozen screen. Any attempt to go back seemed to result in a loss of everything I input. Of course, it could also be that or I'll end up, eventually, with multiple identical (or nearly identical) posts to a single item.
Transition from WCA to Webcasting
Well, today was graduation day for me, and now I have questions about how to transition to a show of my own. When do we quit Webcasting here, and move to Ed Tech Talk? I'm sort of re-doing this process, since I did a lot of this with It's Elementary (although Jose took care of many of the technical issues). Here is what I recall:
- You need to answer the Big Six Questions
- Do I stay in the Sandbox for a while, then move over?
- How about for a periodic show, that doesn't have a regular schedule?
Here is my answer to the Big Six:
What does it mean to connect through webcasting? Add to the check list!
Webcasting is live, podcasting is recorded. Following is a checklist for webcasting:
-Who is on the show and what have you done to prepare your guests? What is the difference between being live and recorded?
-Who is listening and what have you done to get people there to be the audience? Why does this matter?
-Is there a live chat at the same time? Who will be welcoming the guests and taking notes?
-Will there be a way to follow up and build on the topic? What actions will happen as a result of this show?
.... Please add more thoughts here:
Chat archive
Wondering where one would find the chat archive and alternately the process for copying and pasting the chat from the chat window during a show?
Where is the stream archive located?

Learning is frustrating and life-enhancing
James Paul Gee says in his 2003 book that learning is both frustrating and life-enhancing. One doesn't have to look very far in this community to see how that quote applies!
We are all, well with the a few notable exceptions, frustrated when we begin. The mountain seems so insurmountable. And yet, when we crest the peak...our lives are so enhanced!

Over and Out,
Organizing the screencasts
Hello all.
I would verily appreciate it if people were willing to go and drop a link to their screencasts over at http://tutorcasts.org. I guess i'll put up a webcast category and if you would click that it would give us a quick scanable place for all thing webcastyscreencast.
cheers, dave.
