I'm using Windows Vista , downloaded the last version of Audacity and VAC. I also have realtek sound speakers. The presentation on telephony causes me the following problems:

1- In Audacity, I can't manage to open the box With what you hear, I can't seem to find it.

2- The pannel for Volume control is totally different partly because I have the realtek installed and partly because Vista changed part of the previous options.

3- So, I've got no options to choose and no volume control or what I want to be used for recording

Conclusiuon: I don't know what to do...

Mac Settings for recording telephony with Audio Hijack Pro

So, I had trouble following the settings for recording two sides of a telephony call (skype), so once I found settings that worked, I figured I'd post them here for anyone else who might need them. 

 (Using a Logitec 250 USB headset)

System prefs : Sound : output and input set to Logitec USB

Audio Hijack settings : Source type: Skype (it'll restart skype if you have it open)

Skype prefs : output and input set to Logitec USB 

None of this covers the audio specs - I'll be doing editing in Audacity to get those set correctly.

about using Skype group chats - am I crazy or do those preferences not exist for mac? 


Sype Conference Director

When you are doing a webcast, being able to bring in callers to your conference is important.  This is a pretty easy process when they are already in your contact list.  Alice did a great screencast on that.  But what happens when they are not.  How do you add them to your conference?  Ideally, I would want them to call me, the host of the conference.  I got some ideas from the Chief, Jeff. But am still not sure how to handle this. Any ideas?  If anyone can put up a screencast it would be helpful. thanks.

major recording issues

Alice, Maria, and I are trying to record a telephony conference.  I followed Jeff's screencast to the letter and seem to have caused more problems.  Audio Repeater shuts off my voice and creates an echo.  Audacity won't record anything but my voice, Alice can't get VAC to work, and Maria is using a mac and having trouble setting up nicecast.  HELP!

Contact with others

In the kick-off session, something was mentioned about skype IDs. Where can we add ours? I looked at the members list and couldn't see any. Wouldn't that be a good place to add them? 

I'm also not sure what was meant by adding 'webcast' to find each other. Can we add tags to our names?
