I'm getting a bit dissapointed...
Got the USB sound adapter... In Lisbon, in the biggest store I could only find a Usb Sound adaptor from conceptronics , then I installed it, connected the mic to it and the headspeakers to the regular entry and ... nothing... I changed most of the options and I don't seem to get it right.... Is there anything else I should do?

What I don't know how to do is to get this thing to display properly in my Studio Section. I need to recheck the tutorials on how to work on Studio Space layout.

Still, it feels like step by step, I'm getting a little bit closer to being there.

Hi Jeff,

I tried to use the same kind of answer but I don't know if I succeded...
You were certainly right about the first question: thew sound came probably from the speakers I kept using (Creative - SBS vivid 60), because everytime I unplugged the speakers and just used the Audio 310 from Plantronics the Skype lady was heard but in a very low tone that I have never managed to amplify. By the time I uploaded the audio file I was not aware of this.

This afternoon I tried for some hours to record audacity + Skype lady without the creative speakers but I always got the same result with my headset. So I don't send you any new recording as I didin´t manage to get any new results.

Ah! I went to Plantronics.com to see if there was some software to down load and found nothing, so I started usind the headset with what I had. It's a two separate inputs system and as I work in a laptop there are no special entries: you just plug in each input in the right whole....

I'll be in tomorrow for the meeting...

I've explained all of this in case you don't manage to see the video.

Thanks

In case you can't - Congrats on making progress. Skype lady sounded like she was on speaker being recorded by your microphone (as opposed to be captured via your soundcard). Was that the case?

Hi Jeff, Mind my ignorance. Only when I read your message yesterday, I realised that the problem was the mic. I didn't have one and I kept using the mic in the PC. Well, this morning I bought a new one and part of the echo is gone. I'm going to redo the activity just after this message and upload it for the 3rd time and see if the problem is solved. Thanks for all your attention

Hi Mireille, I´ve just added you to the skype group chat. You can get ¨real time¨ support there if you need it. Doug Symington Community Animator and intern-webcaster-in-training

Hello again Carlos,

I think you're right - this is a VAC issue.  I would suggest setting your 'wave in' to your USB mic below.

If that doesn't work, we'll move on to Plan C.  Good luck.

Hi Jeff, I've introduced the changes you proposed, retaped the audio and this is what I got. I think it is better although there still is echo, mainly when Audio repeater is on. I am going to upload straight after this message. Thanks

Hi Mirelle, Just post your audio introduction and that will bring you up do date. I would also make sure you start practicing use of Virtual Audio Cables (VAC) and recording of Skype Conversations. Remember to check out screencasts for all appropriate settings. Los of luck. Jose Rodriguez, Co-Facilitator Webcast Academy Session 2.3; It's Elementary Webcast

Very helpful image sharing Carlos.

The first thing I suggest adjusting is your Skype microphone setting

Change it to your USB mic and also uncheck 'let skype adjust my audio settings'

Mrs Durff, it's not all that difficult to pronounce my family name. Carlos is easy as you might have already heard it from spanish: it is spelled more or less the same way... as for the family name english speakers have some trouble with the f and rr together... try FE (as in fe from felicitate) RREI (as in rai from rain) and RA (as in ra from rabbit). Get it all together and you'll get a decent portuguese accent for sure....

Hello My name is Mireille./ I live in Toronto Canada. I'm a bit late because I have been away for the past three weeks. I want to learn more about web casting and how I can use it as one my tools in my environment. I recently took a course on creating a podcast so I'm hoping to pick on the similarites and build on those I'm so thrilled at the opportunity of taking this course Mireille

Congratulations on getting the two way recording posted.

Not quite sure what's causing the audio anomaly. Would it be possible for you to post a screenshot of various settings on your computer? Something like this: http://www.webcastacademy.net/files/u2/JeffL-HPPavilionDesktop-Setup.jpg

To create the screenshot, you can use Jing, MSPaint, or Irfanview. You can then attach it to a blog post or go to My Account/Personal files, attach it there, and then link to it.
